Pricing Information
I like to keep everything nice and simple so that there are no unwelcome surprises when it comes to paying for your new website. I hope that the information below will answer any questions that you may have but if not, you can contact me anytime.
For relatively small, brochure-type websites, I charge a flat rate fee of £399 for sites containing a maximum of 20 pages. This is for a mostly static website. If flash or custom artwork is required there will be additional costs involved which will be clearly stated before the project build gets underway. The £399 package price does not include CMS compatibility, please see below under 'extra charges' for CMS pricing information.
Larger sites are quoted for on a site by site basis once it is clear exactly what is required. Large sites can be very time consuming to build and it is not uncommon for costs to run into several thousand pounds depending on what is required. If a quoted price is accepted, that price will remain fixed unless any extra work is requested by the client.
If I am required to register a domain on behalf of a client, there will be a small additional charge (typically less than £10 for a .co.uk domain) which is passed onto the registration company on the client's behalf. Domains registered by me, on behalf of a client, will be transferred into the client's ownership once the website is completed and published. There may be a small transfer fee depending on the policy of the registration company at the time of transfer. It is generally easier if the client registers their own domain as this saves time and avoids the extra cost involved in having the domain transferred from me to the client.
I recommend that clients arrange their own webspace for me to upload their new sites too. I am happy to help clients with this process or will arrange webspace for them if required. Costs will vary but a typical annual web hosting package with email will be in the region of £65.
For sites based on the £399 package, any additional pages over 20 are charged at £17.50 each. For larger sites, extra pages required which were not originally quoted for will be charged at £17.50 each.
If a client requests that the site be made compatible with our content management system (CMS), so that clients can manage their own site and publish any changes themselves, an extra fee will be charged of £5 per page. There is also an annual fee, payable in advance, of £35 for access to the CMS service.
Stock images are charged at £1 each to cover royalty fees. Clients are free to supply their own images although they are required to ensure that no copyrights are infringed.
If large amounts of 'flash' or custom artwork are required, extra charges will be incurred at a rate of £100 per day or £20 per hour if more applicable. Any extra charges will be agreed before work is undertaken and costs will not change unless extra work is requested by the client.
Once the website has been published, future support is available to provide site updates as required. This work is charged for at an hourly fee of £20 (Subject to minimum charge of £10).
I am not currently VAT registered and as such no VAT is currently payable.
A deposit of 20% of the total agreed cost of the website will be payable on instruction. No further payments will be required until the website is completed to the satisfaction of the client.
